Our Staff

Headhunters hard working staff is comprised of unique individuals with one thing in common. They like to fish.
Mark Raisler
owner | guide | shop
Mark Raisler has been spending "the season" in Craig for the last 17 years. He became obsessed with the Missouri River on his first trip, in which he only caught one fish. He now claims to have a physiological attachment to the Missouri, and by all accounts, it's true. Over the years, Mark has made the progression from trout bum, to certified casting instructor, to commercial fly tier, to guide and eventually fly shop owner. If Mark wasn't guiding for a living, he'd probably be taking people for free. He is commonly seen forcing a random bar patron to use his favorite flies. Mark loves soggy rods, Gary LaFontaine patterns, DT fly lines, and the color orange. Along with his guiding duties, Mark acts as the Headhunters photographer, blogger, social director and humorist.
Julie Arnold
shop | bookings | accounting
Julie Arnold is the "woman behind the green curtain" in our Oz. You may not see her all the time, but Headhunters would spin into anarchy and disaster without her. An avid angler, Julie has an extensive fly fishing resume', and has even done a little guiding. She has fished the Florida Keys, British Columbia, New Zealand, and has trout fished all over the Rockies. Julie and John have a 5 year old daughter Adair, who can be found hanging around Headhunters as well. Julie is an excellent caster, and she can be seen giving casting instruction behind the shop. Julie is our computer geek, and handles all of our bookings, accounting, lodging and shop details.
Andrew Martineau
shop | bookings
Andrew will be heading into his third season at Headhunters in 2010. Andrew worked at Goodnews River Lodge in Alaska previous to Headhunters. He's a rarity in the fly shop world; a great shop employee who doesn't want to be a guide. Andrew loves to be on the floor, and has no intention of leaving. Andrew can help you with any of your needs, from picking out the killer fly to booking a group trip. He is on the river every minute he's not working, and really knows what's going on. Andrew is our head salesperson, and puts together some great BBQs on the deck at Headhunters.
John Arnold
owner | guide | shop
John has been a full time guide his entire adult life. He began guiding summers during college, and his education paid dearly. More than 20 years of guiding has taught John one thing; it's what he was meant to do. He guided in Idaho for eight years, and has guided in Montana for 14, as well as two seasons of guiding Steelhead in Washington. In 2000 he started his own outfitting business, quickly establishing a loyal following on the Missouri. Though he prefers to dry fly fish, he detests those that insist on matching the hatch and prefers to think outside the box. John does not own a rod lighter than a 5 weight. John also acts as the Headhunters webmaster, videographer, and general hardass.
Ben Hardy
guide | shop
Ben came to us from Yellowstone Valley Ranch in the Paradise Valley. He has been an invaluable part of Headhunters. We threw Ben right into the fire two years ago, and he quickly became a requested guide on the Missouri. Ben will be guiding full time in 2010, but will still be in the shop helping customers when available. When Ben is not working, he is out on the river chasing fish and spent a couple of weeks chasing Steelhead last fall. Ben is our shop carpenter/fix-it guy, and also acts as the Headhunters pyro-technic guru on the 4th of July.
Sara Roholt
shop
Born into a fly fishing family in Meridian Idaho, Sara is the newest member of the Headhunters team. An extremely enthusiastic and aggressive fly fisher, Sara spends every daylight hour she isn't working on the river. Like all of our employees, Sara can handle anything you need, from bookings to lodging to fly selection. We're looking forward to having Sara back for the 2010 season.
