Campground Construction
Fishing – Region 4
Craig Fishing Access Site and campground will be closed Tuesday, May 18 through Thursday, May 20 for a construction project.
“The campground will be paved during that time. For public safety, the entire site will be closed for three days,” said Matt Marcinek, Regional Parks Manager for Fish, Wildlife & Parks in Great Falls. “The project is weather dependent, so the closure dates may need to be adjusted if weather conditions dictate. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation during this popular fishing time. We think the improvements will be well received.”
Last fall, the parking lot at the site was paved. The campground paving this spring will complete the improvement project.

A-OK

Joe @ peace with the river
Long time friend and client of John’s fishing the Mo. Joe and his “Woodie” come out quite often…spring, summer fall…and this year he graced us in the winter. He brought the appropriate juice with him too. Anything that comes in a purple bag is A-OK with me.

Warm Weekend Ahead…

Guiding in March...nice day, nice evening, nice catch rate.
Caught just an hour ago on the Missouri. Luke and Geoff after the day of guiding wrapping it up at the Craig Boat ramp Friday. Catch rates good above the WC Bridge. Not so good after the Prickley Pear…high and bright may have something to do with it.
Fishing is better through out the day below Craig…the word on the street. Even further down stream..more consistent.
High temps this weekend are looking comfortable. 57 on Saturday, 62 on Sunday. With the heat generally comes the breezes. Not always, but sometimes.

Taking out this afternoon at WC. Guides practicing for the season
Good Walleye fishing near the dam. Stop in for our secrets. We will spill them all. The FWP is conducting the annual Burbot survey. We see the orange buoys around the river.
Pat Barnes Trout Unlimited Banquet Saturday night in Helena. The Civic Center at 6 pm. Tickets $35 at the door. Call us for directions, auction tickets…open all day long.
Headhunters Open at 8 am for all your daily river needs.
