SOL's Dad does not care about inclement weather...NO!

Headhunters hosting our 3rd Annual Labor Day Weekend BBQ. This year, unfortunately, no Bikini Boat Wash. I know, shitty. Took the life right out of ya. Me too.

We will whip up some BBQ items, dogs, sausages, sauerkraut, beans, some sort of mystery meats as well. How about Sunday afternoon post lunch? Sounds good to me, Wiffle Ball too. A little casting, and maybe even an ad-hoc contest. I’m a gamer. You?

How about a Customer Appreciation Labor Day Half Price Fly Sale? That’s right. Let’s party, and buy a grocery bag full of flies. Dry flies, nymphs will be flying out the door @ $1. Hoppers and big dries will be priced @ $1.25 with Streamers @ $1.50-2.00…Refill those fly boxes for the fall. Get yer BWO’s, various permutations of PT’s, and dam midges. No more rail cars clogging up grip and grin shots. Just blue skies and smiles. Cheezy huh.

Cloud cover today for the first time in a millennium. The fish appreciated the scalding sun, as we did too. Threatening T-storms as I write, but nothing a good Simms rain jacket and a couple Budweiser’s cannot quell. Tomorrow: Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 70 to 80. West winds 5 to 15 mph. Says the weather guessers. I predict great fishing with lots of fish over 20″. I’m not right every day either. But some days…

Fly Fish Chick is in town for a spell. She has completed the canoe race, and was not looking forward to rowing the boat for her mother and daughter. She did say she could cast a fly rod if needed. Check out her BLOG for her post race coverage…

Small tiny dries are for those who like to cast a lot. Big, bushy, obnoxious shit like that above are for those who like to make a great first pass.

Just a minor rant this morning…and I’m not even pissed. I’m happy. I love small tiny flies…we sell lots of them…all the techy shit.

Saying the “S” word a lot too. Scumliner loves it when I swear. He’s the only one who dropped the “F” bomb on the BLOG, not me. Let’s make that clear. I was in conjunction with the BP debacle.

Under Cooper Bridge yesterday. Stopped for lunch and spyed these fella’s.We even have a few larger bugs, as you can see. The little guys are the Sally’s. Not a Stonefly river, but we have at least some.
