Want to join the Fraternity of the Fly? Want to be part of the fly fishing industry? Want to live, eat, breathe, and sleep fly fishing? Well get that resume together and send it on in.

Headhunters Fly Shop in Craig Montana is starting their annual hiring process. We are looking to fill a couple slots in our shop staff. We need two hot shots to help us from the spring until the fall. As early as March 15th and as late as Nov 15th. We will fit the appropriate staff in those available slots as we find them. Opportunities for long time employment always exist. If you are some sort of fly shop rockstar…we’ll make room for you!

Duties include normal fly shop stuff like customer service, selling flies, rods, reels, clothing, waders and the like. Driving shuttles is a big part of your job. A clean driving record is imperative. Yard maintenance, hanging on the porch, and additional crappy fly shop taks will find you throughout the summer.

Headhunters Fly Shop is looking for a few good men and women!A passion for fishing is required. You do not have to be an expert when you apply. Over the course of the summer you will become pretty familiar with the Missouri River and the local surroundings. A fantastic opportunity to learn, to grow, and to become a much better dry fly angler. Include your fishing experience in your resume to give a good idea of your personal fly fishing chi.

Working for Headhunters can be a stepping stone to the fly fishing biz. A few former HH employees have gone onto big (better paying) fly fishing jobs. A great thing to add to your resume if you plan on making fly fishing a daily part of your life. Or if you plan on making this a full time career Headhunters is a great starting point. Why not work for the #1 fly shop on one of the top trout fisheries on planet earth! Sounds like a good time to me.

Headhunters is looking for self starters. I know you hear that from all employers, but with us it is true. You gotta be a motivated to do more than wait for instruction. Watch plenty of YouTune vids this winter because there is little time for that in the peak months.

A resume is required. Email it to us with “Resume” in the Subject Line. Email to both sara@headhuntersflyshop.com and mark@headhuntersflyshop.com please. Things that Mark does not like include bad punctuation, bad capitalization, bad grammar, resume’s without references…I think you get the drift. Just put together a good looking portrait of yourself so that you look good! Or fishy. Things that Sara does no like include incomplete resume’s, no phone number, one paragraph resume’s…and she will look at your social media sites to gauge your fishing personality traits!

Include your references, fly fishing experience, retail experience, when you are available for employment start and finish dates, special needs, time when you may be gone in the summer months, your phone number, your email, and any cool photos of you fishing to get us stoked on you!

You will start at 10 bucks an hour and have an opportunity to move up. Bonuses are part of the program in the mid-summer. Gear discounts and valuable fly fishing learning opportunities are the high points of this job! Lodging can be difficult to find but we will do our best to help on that front. Sara is very good and lining it up for our seasonal team. Expect at least $500/month for rent and possibly $600/month. We will do our best in your pursuit.

We love to get the staff in place for the summer before we get to spring. So we take care of the hiring process in the winter. Make sense? Please send us your resume in January. That gives us time to check references and interview.

So do you want in? Want to work for a fun fish filled business in Craig Montana on the banks of the Mighty Missouri River? I bet you do. Get that resume in the email today!

  • My offer still stands! :-). Only one small change. Upon further consideration, I’m going to need $5K a month instead of original $3K. And maybe a little more time off in the mornings and evenings.

    • OK Sal. Deal. Your only requirement is that you handle all of the media. Blog posts, the 25 social posts per week, and conduct afternoon beer drinking sessions. Sounds easy enough?

  • I am that “FLYSHOP ROCKSTAR”. I’ll be done here this year and apply there next year–I used to work in a flyshop……………………………once. Not really wanting to work though–just gonna come fish again.

    • You are that OG fly shop rockstar. The shop staff of today is judged upon the precedent you set way back. None had as much fun and brought the game like you did LT!

      • See you next year—maybe we could float a few over a couple—However, I am concerned to hear that you’ve been smoking cheese—sounds like I’d best hurry
