If you have dry fly fished here before you know the drill.

Cripples, emergers, spinners. Although I have seen some eating the dun this year.

Long time Mo River Guide and local Helena boy Kurt and I were speaking about the dun eaters. And we love dun eaters.

The fish do not always get on the dun here.

But sometimes they do. And what beautiful eating movement patterns the trout occasionally execute.

A reminder as we head into the weekend to practice humility, positive outdoor behavior, respect others, and brace yourself for getting smashed into by large float devices like Unicorns and Flamingos.

It’s all about intention. Anglers who cut each other off are just dicks. Flamingo floaters are not trying to put your fish down. Nope. They are trying to get through the 8 pk of White Claws.

So relax and bust out that can of Deviled Ham and Ritz crackers. They fish will come back.
