Missouri RIver fishing report

Monday Morning. Last day of June. Here is the latest from the gang at Headhunters Fly Shop in downtown Craig Montana.

Water Flows 3730cfs and 60F.

Quite busy on the upper reaches. Less so downriver. Most of the out of area gang has retreated to home waters around the state.

PMD’s waning. Still some around. Will they continue in some manner for the next month? No, probably not. For a couple weeks? We hope so. Spinner falls can continue for a bit. Hatches may happen in the veil of darkness and spinner falls sometime later that day, or the next?!

Caddis steady. Downwinged models work best. The ones you cannot really see that well. Caddis flies will continue through the next month.

Trico’s?! Yep. A couple weeks before schedule. Spinner falls occur daily mid morning. Clusters, spinners, Cripples. Get ‘em at Headhunters of Craig.

Guides out daily. Call for a guide trip in the coming weeks. Lodging too. Late summer looking good for availability.

Shop open early at 630am.
