Late August here in central Montana with the fishing kinda good some days and others not as good. Typical August fishing on the Mighty Mo.

Dry fly fans get out and conquer early towards the dam. Upriver certainly your best shot for the sometime abbreviated spinner fall. Spinners and smaller clusters. Female spinners, spent caddis. Ants, of course. Hoppers for those driftin’.

Nymphers stuck on the big fly little fly set up. Zirdle, Girdle, Wordle, zonked, bugger up top followed by a small mayfly or midge of your choice. Put it wager the weeds ain’t.

Strippers napping til the weeds epoch drifts north. Swingers, ditto.
