November fishing report today on the HH Blog. We love November. How about you?
Water Flows currently about 2800cfs. Low. Wadeable. Approachable.
Water Temperatures are below the 50.6F mark. Currently falling daily. Let’s keep it in the 40’s for a spell. BWO’s, midge, a few tan caddis around, the October Caddis does not play too well with our resource although there are enough to see a handful or two in September and October. Occassionally can get a fish to become interested if you skitter it around.
Nymphers like 0’-2’ deep. Short and shorter. Dry Dropper if you wish. But, if you are of the catching and using the net persuasion I’d suggest the true nymph rig. Hard to get a perfect drift with the dry dropper rig. And, if you like to cast wildly the two fly dry-nymph rig can cause you problems. Or make you better at retying knots.
Deeper rigs in the morning can be productive. Center river stuff for sure. Worm and a sow? A sz 16 Pill Popper or a Pink French Dip followed by an unweighted BWO or Sow can produce in November.
Super Shallow rigs are popular as well. No weight? Yes. Try it.

Dry Fly anglers enjoying the last half of the day. With the time change we will see bugs appear before the lunch hour. Some days. Some days are better than others. Which days? Gotta be here to know. Gotta be on the water to experience the love . Cripples, emergers, duns. Fish one you can see. It helps.
Strippers loving the low light deal. Cloudy skies. Calm winds. Small black leeches been the hot tip as of late. Flashy if the sun pokes through. Dry lines or intermediate tips will get you there. Full Intermediate if you like to get in the channel.
