Missouri river fishing report july 3rd
All good here in this neighborhood headed to the Holiday Weekend. Historically a family weekend with fewer anglers on the water. Sunday the anglers return. Quite busy as we head into the next and full first July week ahead. Shop open daily early.
Flows are 3710cfs. Water temps 63F.
Ants are on the menu. PMD’s waning but the Trusty Rusty Spinner still bringing them to the surface. Caddis in the film. Trico’s the main player in the mornings. Spinners are the key player here. Clusters can get you there.
But, the primary component of dry fly fishing is the dead drift fishing the Mighty Missouri River. Mother Mo. Get close to the reach cast, or any slack line cast you desire. Believe it. Do it. Live it.
Nymphers on the Zirdle, sow, PMD perditions, Frenchie’s, S&M, and the other PMD like nymphs. Caddis nymphs like the weight fly and red beaded weight fly are connecting with trout.
Swingers and strippers are napping for the summer and will wake in late Autumn.
Open daily here in Craig. See us when in town and Happy Holidays!
