Happy Fathers Day

Happy father’s Day to all of you out there. Thank you for your fatherhood!

Many fathers played the mentor role not only in life, but in fishing and outdoor pursuits. Thank you for that dads!

Fishing mentorship is important. Outdoor mentorship is important. Public lands are important. Sharing the gift of nature is important. Fishing with kids is important. Fathers and fishing mentorship is damn important for the continuation of this fine sport.

I fished with my father. I fished with the extended Raisler and Hegstad families. I appreciate it more today than I did then. But I guess that is many of us. I feel fortunate and thankful for the family to introduce the outdoors to me. I am engaged in the same pursuits to this very day. Outside my entire life teaching skiing and fly fishing. Forever thankful for my introduction. Forever thankful for the opportunity to pass outdoor stewardship along to those I meet today.

And we, you, and I are forever thankful to our Fathers.
