Headhunters Fly Shop Hiring Shop Staff
Hiring for the ‘26 season beginning late March or April through the end of the season, October 31st. 40hrs/week. Competitive pay. Potential pay increase based on performance.Retail experience preferred, but no experience required. At least an intermediate understanding of fly fishing products, fly fishing experience, POS/point of sale experience, along with a willingness to learn are all important individual components for employment.
This is a seasonal fly shop position. While we strive for a 40/hr week you may be asked to work more than the 40 hour weekly period. Seasonal staff must be willing to work when the work needs to be done. In the peak periods of the summer you may be required to work more than the 40 hr period. Overtime pay will accompany your hard work. You may be asked to work with spilt days off. You may be asked to work split shifts, i.e. morning shift and then an evening shift. Again, this is a seasonal job that sometimes requires seasonal type shift work. This is not every week, but it should be expected as seasonal staff must be willing to accommodate the seasonal shifts required to keep the fly shop staffed and customer service forward. Mid Summer shifts start at 6am, sometimes 530am. Early risers apply! Some shifts in mid summer may stretch to 9pm. You will always have the opportunity to work the full 40/hr week, not less.

Don't want to speak with customers about trout fishing? Rather think about it yourself while riding in the shuttle van? Have a clean driving record? Love to look at the river at 50mph? Then fish it yourself after surveying the river scene daily? Then you are cut from the Shuttle Mold! And many are. This up to 40hr/week position pays well, requires attention to detail, like not locking keys in the wrong car! Position includes all of the compensation below. Shuttle positions available in '26! Call today! The normal shuttle week is not 40hrs/week. Commonly FT shuttle drivers come in at 30hrs/week. Some weeks 20hrs. Not as many hours while we are not in the peak season. May, June thru mid July are the peak shuttle staff periods.

Job skills include
Ability to learn. Clean driving record/insurable. Basic knowledge of computer skills. Point of Sale attention. Professional fishing appearance. You must look like an angler. Meaning work wear will include fly fishing branded clothing. Knowledge of modern fly fishing products including rods, reels, lines, and flies. 40 hr work week.Strong self starters.
