New Sage Rods for ‘26 In Stock
Sage “Arrow”
Sage just released a couple of new rods for ‘26 that are perfect for Montana. First of the the Arrow (above), which falls in that second price tier at $725.00, the slot previously filled by the Sonic. This price point always brings top shelf tech from the previous generation, and you can definitely feel the Konnetic HD tech in this rod. It feels like a flagship rod. The 9’ #5 is a sweet and smooth rod with reserve power, and matches perfectly with our Headhunter line. A perfect all arounder, but with tech dry-fly DNA for the Missouri.
Sage “Power R8”
Next we have the latest “Fastest Action” rod from Sage, the new Power R8 at $1100. Mighty fast and powerful it is. Definitely not a rod I’d grab for Trico fishing, but Mark might? The latest red rod is the perfect stick for big water hopper and dry dropper fishing, and a 7 weight would be an excellent Pike/Bass/Carp rod as well. Some streamer junkies like slow action, and some like fast action. If you’re in the latter camp, here’s your rod (TCR, TCX, etc.). These will also be popular with the Stillwater crowd, who has to battle big wind and big trout along the front and the Blackfeet Nation. These rods like powerful tapers, and match up great with lines that are 1+ line size heavy.
I’m sure there is much more to come on these new rods soon from Mark. Both rods are in stock and available to demo now at Headhunters, or you can try them quick in our casting lane if you’re just curious.
