Rain Day Fun

Dry fly mania during the rain events of the past couple days. PMD’s, Trico’s and Caddis all players.

Today’s rain dampened a few anglers from participating but not too many.

Lesser angler pressure a we move into the weekend ahead with the holiday looming Saturday. A family weekend and not terrible fishing crowds historically.

As always this time of year lots of anglers up at the BLM controlled dam and WC Bridge FAS with the ever poplar canyon receiving lots of boats pressure as well.

More rain as we move through the week with afternoon thunderstorms looming daily.

River mysteriously up moving towards 5K as I write this blog Monday early evening. Not because of the current rain, no. This rain will not accomplish much in the filling of Canyon Ferry above us. Juneis the wettest month anyway. What it will do is add a couple more days until we dance around higher water temps in July.

Rapid weed int the water column development this past week. Anchor mech’s are clogging and nymph rigs are fouling.

The Missouri River in the section near Craig Montana contains aquatic weeds. And they could your gear, boat, and the works! A normal occurrence here on this river below Holter Dam

Happy Monday to you all!
