Missouri river fishing report. The week behind, the week in front.

March Brown patterns on my table…

Raining hard and sleeting yesterday. Water in creeks rising and the rest of the state may be blown. Not the Mighty Mo as we enjoy the 3 dams that create a Mother Nature altered false wonderful trout fishing environment.

All good on the Mo. Sunshine this coming week. Last week, overcast and lots of rising trout. This week, lots of bugs, lots of spring weather. Unsettled.

Have the nymph rod and dry fly rod at the ready. The streamer rod? Sure. Wear your arm out between dry fly runs?!?! Has not been as productive a technique as we would like in May. May is commonly the best month to streamer fish the Mo. Yes, it is not the late fall. although a nice time to toss the big weighted bug.

Mixed bag. That is the theme. Bring rain gear, sunscreen, hats and toques. Bring all rods.

Flows reaching upwards as they may let this water pass through. 5K is the current level. Water temps in the 50’s bouncing around and tied directly to the weather this period of the season.

Tributaries moving upwards. Some. The southern part of the state seems to be coming back in. The Dearborn way too low for floating. Do not get on the DB with a boat if you do not like walking and dragging your craft for miles and miles and miles…

One of the first tunes that hooked me on the Who. Reminiscent of Brit Rock at that stage of history. Harmonies that most could sing along with. A huge Beatles fan was I, am I. This was a great crossover tune for me. Brit-Pop-Punk. Or so I thought. Edgy?! Tame by today’s standards.

June is nearing. Lots of May left as well. Stop in for a hello, a free cup of Joe, and cell coverage for you IG & TikTokkers,..flies you ned for the Mo.

We have dry flies too.
