Missouri River Montana Fishing Report 11.20.13

The best part of the fishing day is the solace on the river. The Missouri River Montana Fishing Report is good. Pretty damn good.

A few boats out daily and that is about it. A few bird hunters too. The weather looks like it is stabilizing and with it, the wind will crawl back into the hills. Gone. Good bye. See ya.

Missouri River Montana Fishing Report

The winter game is creeping into our daily fly fishing lives. Slower water, deeper rigs, and split shot are part of the common set up. Bobbers too.

While you can find some good dry fly moments, you may not have hours of dry fly bliss. Or, maybe you can with the calm and overcast skies.

Still folks spread throughout the entire river column with the exception of the Cascade reach. Maybe you should try it? Many are moving back up to the dam. But, you don’t have to quite yet. Craig down, WC down, or the canyon are all possibilities for your daily drift. Headhunters Fly Shop is running shuttles daily throughout the winter for your convenience.

We have guides out this week with a few folks taking advantage of our $400 Guide Trip this late fall. Discounted lodging @ Craig Trout Camp is you would like to make a weekend, or mid-week venture to the Missouri River.

The water temps have stalled at the 44F benchmark. Baetis still hatching until she falls below the 40F level. The flows are holding at 3020cfs. Nice water temps and water levels make this late fall and early winter fishing user friendly.
