Tuesday Fishing Report Montana’s Missouri River

  • Water temps cold.
  • Water low.
  • Traffic light.
  • Shelf ice pretty non-existent.
  • Shop open 8am daily.
  • Sows, scuds, Zebra’s, Pink flies of your desire.
  • Deep and slow water. Split shot.  Almost stopped for the nymphers.
  • Swingers finding deep and slow buckets. Fishing deep, into slow buckets.
  • Strippers fishing the strip, or pause, for long periods of time. Seconds. Many seconds, then pull on it. Sometimes the fish is attached.
  • Leeches, winter fare. Sharp hooks.
  • Tie up some of your favorites. Go to the dam, or WC, or Craig. Or Stickney Creek.
  • Joe’s sorta open daily. WC Store open daily 7am. Missouri River Inn at Prewitt Creek open 5 days a week. Find the number and call first. Cascade bars open til 9 for dinner, burgers, etc. Beers too.
  • Short fishing report today. The only at least weekly updated fishing report on this very river.
